We are thrilled to announce the successful installation of the Remote Observer at Poprad-Tatry (LZTT) Airport. Now featuring a new and improved housing designed to withstand freezing conditions, this advanced system is fully operational, providing reliable support for local observers, as well as remote observers and forecasters from Bratislava. With its enhanced durability and innovative features, the Remote Observer is set to redefine operational efficiency and resilience in harsh climates.
The updated housing not only offers a sleek, modern appearance but also provides robust protection against harsh weather conditions. Capable of operating in temperatures as low as -35 °C and customizable to meet specific needs across a range of -40 °C to +70 °C, it ensures uninterrupted functionality in diverse environments, from Slovakia's icy winters to tropical climates like U-Tapao, Thailand (VTBU). Complementing this, the advanced air umbrella technology—an innovative blowing device that keeps the camera lens clear in all weather—ensures 24/7 performance. This technology has been validated by TSÚ Piešťany, a facility renowned for its comprehensive testing protocols. Their expertise and rigorous standards guarantee the reliability, safety, and market readiness of products like the Remote Observer.
This installation underlines our commitment to providing reliable, high-quality solutions for aviation safety regarding the onset of remote MET observations. With its wide temperature-operating range, the Remote Observer is adaptable to various global regions, meeting specific environmental demands and ensuring consistent performance. Most importantly, stable and 100 % functional hardware provides the solid foundation for the development of AI tools that can further support remote observations and enhance forecast accuracy, paving the way for innovative advancements in meteorology.
