The TWIGA project, which the company MicroStep-MIS was involved in, was officially terminated in 2022. TWIGA (Transforming Weather Water data into value-added information services for sustainable Growth in Africa) was one of the projects under Horizon 2020, the European Union's research and innovation funding program. MicroStep-MIS' role in the project was to participate in the development of Boron-based Large scale Observation of Soil Moisture (BLOSM) and to provide calibration services for existing meteorological stations.
It is our pleasure to announce that we have been invited to a follow-up project called TEMBO Africa - Transforming Environmental Monitoring to Boost Observation in Africa. The central concept of the TEMBO is to build on recent developments in sensor technology that make cost-efficient monitoring possible in the region. A more detailed scope of the project and the roles of the participants in the consortium will be revealed in the coming months.
