MicroStep-MIS supplies 30 mobile and 10 permanent automatic meteorological stations to the National Center for Meteorology of Saudi Arabia.
The specialty of this project is the mobile solution for weather and environmental monitoring, the assembly and mobilization of which were designed with the end-user in mind - the whole system can be put into operation within a few minutes.
The weather station, designed on a trailer platform, is based on the AMS 111 IV Data Logger with Linux operating system. It contains a rich set of sensors such as digital barometer MSB780, relative humidity and temperature probe RHT175, ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor WindObserver, solar radiation sensor CMP10, sunshine duration sensor CSD3, net radiometer NR Lite 2, and visibility and present weather sensor SWS-200. Each station is also equipped with a BTD-200 lightning detector by Biral and a camera.
The prototype of the solution together with the documentation was sent to the customer in the autumn of 2021. Our philosophy is to meet the customer's expectations in the highest possible faith, so we customized the implementation of this solution in this case as well. The purpose of the Factory Acceptance Test was, in addition to verifying the functionality, to accept the design of the trailer platform, according to which further trucks will be produced locally by our partner.
The application of such a solution consists of short-term monitoring in places where permanent facilities are absent, as well as in areas where denser monitoring is needed, for example at large public events.
