MicroStep-MIS successfully delivered IMS4 Airport Lightning Alert System for the customer in Thailand. We are proud to announce that it is the first big project realized in Thailand, and the second of this kind. Earlier last year the first Lightning System by MicroStep-MIS had been implemented in Taiwan.
The IMS4 Airport Lightning Alert System has been developed to address the top severe weather threat of the airport operations. It is the combination of the standalone lightning detection sensors and lightning data network providing the airport operators with detection of lightning, storm cell identification, nowcasting, and early warning based on detection of electrostatic field and charged precipitation applying the innovative Biral's BTD-300 Thunderstorm Detector. Using the data, the system not only contributes to protection of the people and property at the airport, but it also maintains the balance between safety and efficiency while keeping the air traffic from becoming a heaping mess.
The system uses the back-end of the proven, reliable and powerful IMS4 Environmental Database. Flexible data acquisition system enables the collection of data from the lightning sensors as well as other external resources. Processed data are presented via multi-layer maps, tables, graphs, charts, current data view - all customizable according to the specific requirements and needs of the client. The IMS4 Airport Lightning Alert System is open to further extension modules with a possibility to become a complex environmental monitoring and database system.
