Buoy Impact Detection
Text

MicroStep-MIS developed the Buoy Impact Sensor. Some of the busiest ports worldwide handle large amounts of shipping tonnage every day. Therefore, there is a high risk of collision between the ship and the buoy. For this reason, we developed a solution to handle such an occurrence.

As the name implies, the sensor is able to detect impacts that are greater than the set level. This means that in the case of a marine buoy this level will be set to be able to detect the ship's impact. The MicroStep-MIS' buoy impact sensor does not prevent the buoy from a ship crash, however, it notifies the observers - UDCS / CLDB users - about the occurrence of the collision. The sensor, connected to a data logger, generates a signal (alarm) upon detection which serves as a trigger for the fisheye camera on the top of the buoy.
