Sandstorm model is a new module of IMS4 Model Suite. It is based on the state-of-the-art 3D numerical weather prediction and model for sand uplift, dispersion and deposition.

The model is verified against geostationary and polar orbiting satellites, lidar and aerodrome reports. Results of the IMS4 Model Suite Sandstorm Modeling and Prediction System are very promising and indicate that the system will help prepare public for sandstorm events.
Recently, MicroStep-MIS in coopearation with the local partner in United Arab Emirates - the company Unique System FZE - implemented the model in Road Weather Information and Early Warning System for Dubai Municipality.
